Rob Doherty is General Manager, United States, for Reuters, responsible for operations in 12 bureaus, including Washington, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He joined Reuters in 1987 and has previously held the positions of Washington bureau chief, deputy managing editor for the Americas, news editor for the Middle East and Africa, and deputy news editor for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and currently sits on the Board of Visitors at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. He also holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.

Andrew P. Fimka is currently a Vice President at Story Partners, one of Washington’s fastest growing full-service public affairs firms. Prior to joining Story Partners, Andrew served as Director of Political and Legislative Advocacy for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Before NFIB, Andrew served in a variety of volunteer and professional political roles for federal and state campaigns, as well as a national party committee; focusing on policy, coalitions and direct voter contact operations. Campaign experience includes serving as National Coordinator for Business Coalitions for the McCain 2008 Presidential Campaign. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Hartford (West Hartford, CT) and holds a master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management (Washington, D.C.).

Erica Fischer, Senior Manager in the GolinHarris Public Affairs practice in Washington, D.C. She leads GolinHaris’ health care media relations and stakeholder engagement team and has more than eight years of experience with a variety of diverse media and stakeholder audiences. Erica’s expertise includes: strategic communications planning, stakeholder engagement, scientific data and regulatory announcements, and issues/crisis management. Prior to joining GolinHarris, Erica managed grassroots advocacy campaigns for the American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Federation of Independent Business. Erica was also active in Minnesota politics and previously worked on numerous local and statewide campaigns. Erica has a master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from GW’s Graduate School of Political Management and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from the University of Minnesota.

Hannah Kim, a GW School of Poltical Management alumna, is the Communications Director for the office of Representative Charles B. Rangel of New York. Hannah began her career as the deputy press secretary for Congressman Rangel in 2010. She also serves as a member of the executive board of the Democratic Communicators Network (DCNet).

Tara Sonenshine, Distinguished Fellow for the School of Media and Public Affairs. Recently held the positive of under secretary of public diplomacy and public affairs for the Department of State, and prior to that, had positions at the US Institute of Peace and a long media career at ABC News.
