Lecture: Exploring the Costume Collections of GW Department of Theater and Dance

Sigrid Johannesdottir, GW assistant professor of costume design and technology, gives an introduction to the Department of Theater and Dance's costume collection. The department performs three MainStage shows every semester in the Betts Theater (Marvin Center). The costume collection includes vintage clothing, historically accurate reproductions, and haute couture. Johannesdottir will discuss the importance of this collection as shows are being designed and produced.

This program is part of the museum's weekly Textiles at Twelve series, which explores the textile arts and global cultures through films, lectures, gallery talks, and more. Free, no reservations required.
